Portable basketball hoops are a great option for parents just looking to have a basketball hoop in their driveway for their kids to play without breaking their budget. They’re also looking for an option that is not permanent.
Portable hoops are great! With an able-bodied adult, they’re easily moved so you can choose different areas in which to play or move it out of the way so cars can fit into an area of your driveway. In addition, they’re affordable enough, y=under $500, that is you have it for five or so years and want to get rid of it you’re not losing out on thousands if you were to throw it away.
The ease at which portable basketball hoops can be moved is an advantage. However, it is also a disadvantage. Because it’s easy to move means it moves more when you play, a great deal more. There’s no comparison between the quality of play on a portable hoop and an inground basketball hoop, which is to be expected when you consider the alternative is an in-ground hoop where the basketball pole is cemented 36″ into the ground. In addition, a common problem with portable basketball goals is because they’re easy to move they also have a tendency to get blown over and damaged in storms due to heavy winds.
