Best Hybrid Golf Clubs: The Definitive Guide

Are you in the market for new golf gear? If so, you might be interested in the best hybrid golf clubs for 2017.

It can be a little tricky choosing this piece of equipment and I’ll show you what to look for when making your purchase – you’ll see my top picks for the year too.

Sound good?

How To Choose A Hybrid Club

I’ve learned a few things when selecting new clubs from years of playing golf. The main things to think about is:

  • Loft: Loft creates the backspin when contact is made between the hybrid and golf ball. Choosing loft is usually a straight forward process and it depends on your swing speed – the slower your swing, the higher the loft you’ll need. However, it’s a little different with a hybrid; the loft of this club depends on which club you’re replacing it with (which iron or which fairway wood). Here’s a chart that will help with the conversion:

So if you plan on using your hybrid as a 3-wood or 1-iron, you should pick a loft between 14 and 16 degrees.

  • Flex: Flex is how much a shaft bends on your down swing. There’s a bunch of different flexes (regular, senior, stiff and so on and so forth) and again, it all depends on your swing speed – the slower you swing, the higher flex you’ll need.

There’s a few more important factors to consider and this video sums them all up:

Pretty simple, right? So now that you know how to buy a hybrid, let’s take a look at my top picks.
